How to Program Your Kenwood Ham Radio with kpg 89d Software




If you own a Kenwood ham radio, you may want to program it with the kpg 89d software. Step 1: Connect your radio to your computer

Plug one end of the cable into the accessory port of your radio, and the other end into a serial or USB port of your computer. Then turn on your computer and launch the kpg 89d software.


Step 2: Read data from your radio

  • Select File > New to create a new file.

  • You will see a message saying Read Completed. Press OK.



  • You will now see the data from your radio displayed on the software interface.



Step 3: Edit data on the software




Now that you have read data from your radio, you can edit it on the software. You can change various settings and features of your radio, such as frequencies, channels, tones, power levels, scan functions and more. To edit data on the software, follow these steps:


  • Select Edit > Edit Data.



  • A dialog box will appear showing different tabs for different categories of data. Select the tab that corresponds to the data you want to edit.



  • You will see a table showing different parameters for each channel or function. You can change the values of these parameters by clicking on them and typing in new values or selecting from drop-down menus.



  • You can also add or delete channels or functions by clicking on the Add or Delete buttons at the bottom of the table.



  • You can also copy or paste data from one channel or function to another by using the Copy and Paste buttons at the bottom of the table.



  • You can also import or export data from or to a CSV file by using the Import CSV File or Export CSV File buttons at the bottom of the table.



  • You can also use the FPU Help button at the bottom of the table to access more information and instructions about editing data on the software.
