Response from Care Inspectorate - Investigation into EBSWA complaint will proceed.

Dear Maggie Mellon,

Your complaint regarding the Guidance for children and young people’s services on the inclusion of transgender, including non-binary, young people has been passed to me by Jackie Irvine for investigation under the Care Inspectorate’s Complaints about the Care Inspectorate process.

I have reviewed your submission and note that it sets out clear areas of dissatisfaction, which provides sufficient information for me to progress your complaint directly to Stage 2 without requiring any further information from you at this stage.

I will therefore proceed with the investigation. The target date for completion is 6 October 2026. If there are any delays that are likely to affect this timescale, I will write to you nearer the time to provide an update.
